Application Analyst III - Core Systems

We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Application Analyst Core Systems in the Application Services Department.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Application Supervisor, this position:

• Provides medium- to high-level support and expertise related to systems configuration, research and analysis, and State policy and procedure implementation, in support of the Application Analyst IV – Core Systems
• Supports the Application Analyst IV – Core Systems and Application Services leadership in the analysis of Alliance business procedures, performance of medium to high level complexity systems configuration, and conducting related research
• Provides core systems technology training and subject matter expertise to Alliance staff incoordination with other Application Analyst – Core Systems, Application Services leadership, and the Learning and Development Department

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Experience with Alliance core and ancillary systems
• Experience working with methodologies such as Application Lifecycle Management and various project management methodologies and best practices
• Thorough knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare Programs, the methods of product configuration in a Medicaid/Medicare environment, and the medical terminology, related procedures, and national diagnostic coding
• Working knowledge of health care regulatory policies, principles of health care planning and administration, health care data analytics, State and Federal Legislative processes, Medicare DSNP and Medi-Cal
• Some knowledge of Agile/Scrum development environments

• Knowledge of:
• the principles and practices of technical/technology implementation processes, including the integration of systems and the application of information management
• research, analysis, reporting methods, performance metrics and statistics
• Medicaid/Medicare Program, the methods of product configuration in a Medicaid/Medicare environment, and medical terminology, related procedures, and national diagnostic coding
• Ability to:
  • analyze and write process maps, work instructions, and documentation
  • translate business requirements into detailed product requirements
  • demonstrate flexibility and creativity and to effectively adapt to change
• Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care, Information Technology, Information Science, or a related field and a minimum of five years (or a Master’s degree and three years) of D-SNP product configuration experience which included some experience related to staff training and a minimum of three years of experience in a managed health care environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying

OTHER INFORMATION

• We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
• While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
• In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).

Typical areas in Zone 2: Fresno area, Bakersfield, Central Valley (with the exception of Sacramento), Eastern California, Eureka area
