The role involves bringing characters to life through animation, collaborating with supervisors to refine performances, and ensuring consistency in quality throughout the production process.
Responsibilities
- Bring characters and objects to life through compelling animation that aligns with the project's creative vision
- Collaborate with the Animation Supervisor/leads to refine performance, timing, and movement in scenes
- Interpret storyboards and animatics into fully realized animation, adding nuance and personality to characters
- Ensure consistency in style and quality across all assigned shots, adhering to the established animation guidelines
- Collaborate with leadership, production, and team members to solve problems and share insights
- Engage in dailies, rounds, and team discussions to contribute to creative and technical improvements
- Adhere to pipeline workflows and technical requirements for seamless integration into the production process
- Maintain consistency in quality while meeting production needs
- Manage time effectively, working with production to stay on schedule
- Keep the team and production staff informed about progress, challenges, and solutions
Skills
- Previous production experience as an Animator (or similar) in TV series or featurette animation
- Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and acting for animation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively promote solutions, share knowledge, and incorporate feedback
- Strong time management skills
- A portfolio that demonstrates a range of character animation showcasing strong performance and acting skills
- Strong grasp of weight, timing/spacing, and appeal in animation performance
- Ability to animate cartoony/stylized characters
- Clear understanding of storytelling through animation
