In your role you will: • Utilize a Design thinking process on projects across our portfolio of brands with cross-functional teams. This will include connected smart products, Outdoors and Security as well as Water Innovations products. • Gather insights around the user through immersive research. • Generate user centered solutions with compelling 2D sketches • Create rapid physical prototypes to bring concepts to life • Translate sketches and rapid prototypes to refined CAD models • Generate photorealistic renderings to effectively communicate and drive excitement for new concepts • Partner with our UIUX and research teams to evaluate concept sketches, renderings, and prototypes to quickly learn from and respond to feedback • Work with UIUX team to design optimal experiences with connected products integrating the interfaces between product and App. • Communicate the design story behind the concepts to stakeholders throughout the business, building confidence and support for the project • Keep track of the design process and the supporting documentation and resources gathered throughout (Via Miro and PPT) • Define refined concepts with detailed Color, Material and Finish documentation • Create and maintain brand language concepts and documentation across multiple product families and categories • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, engineering, product owners, and project managers to ensure concepts are clearly understood and enable effective collaboration • Discover new technologies, manufacturing methods and innovative ways to deliver optimal solutions for the user. Qualifications Qualifications • A Bachelor s degree in Industrial Design is required. • Minimum of 3 years of Industrial Design experience. • Strong 2D sketching and visualization skills via Sketchbook Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate or similar • Experience with robust 3D modelling practices in CAD, Creo or Solidworks preferred • Ability to produce compelling photorealistic renderings, Keyshot preferred • Ability to build rough prototypes and observe testing and research activities • Team focused attitude, collaborative, with the desire to share knowledge, assist others and work together to achieve great results • Flexible, creative, resilient, and driven to maintain design excellence from project start to finish • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and demonstrated ability to produce great designs while working with those constraints Additional Information Fortune Brands' Water Innovations (WINN) is a multi-brand plumbing business that is inspiring people by designing beautiful experiences with water.
