Position Summary • *Candidate Must be willing to travel to fort Wayne, IN for training** Sirva Moving Services is an industry leader in interstate moving. The non-conventional operations team plays a critical role in expanding capacity through multi-modal solutions, leveraging third-party over-the-road transportation and agent crews for terminal services at customer residences. We are seeking a Manager of Non-Conventional Operations who brings strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, and decisive leadership to oversee loose load modes (CRT, Padded Van, and Intermodal). This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, mentoring operations teams, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring seamless planning and execution across van line networks. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Team Leadership and Development (25%) • Lead, coach, and empower a team of operations professionals with clarity and accountability. • Establish daily workflows and performance goals aligned with departmental strategy. • Provide ongoing feedback, training, and support to foster professional growth and operational efficiency. Operational and Financial Oversight (25%) • Develop and execute plans to meet departmental KPIs and financial targets. • Monitor trailer fleet utilization and ensure alignment with budgeted performance. • Support monthly P&L reporting and lead remediation planning to meet financial goals. • Conduct root cause analysis and implement process improvements to reduce risk and enhance service delivery. Agent & Customer Relationship Management (20%) • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and customers, ensuring high levels of service and responsiveness. • Resolve escalations with empathy and urgency, supporting troubled shipments and operational challenges. • Represent the department in cross-functional meetings and agent forums. Vendor Management (20%) • Source, evaluate, and onboard new vendors to support operational needs and expand capacity. • Manage the full vendor life cycle, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and termination. • Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure vendor accountability. • Monitor insurance compliance and broker agreements to maintain regulatory and contractual standards. • Provide regular feedback and collaborate with vendors to drive continuous improvement and service excellence. Systems & Process Innovation (10%) • Collaborate on the design and enhancement of systems platforms to support evolving operational needs. • Provide feedback and logic for system development, testing, and rollout to improve efficiency and user experience. QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS: • 5-8 years of industry experience in logistics, transportation, or operations. • Excellent communication. • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and P&L reporting. • Advanced analytical skills and strategic thinking. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. • Familiarity with U.S. geography and logistics planning. • Proven ability to lead with integrity, resolve problems decisively, and manage vendor relationships effectively. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business management, or a related field. OR equivalent experience.
