Health Unit Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Health Unit Coordinator to join our team. As a key player in our healthcare environment, you will provide essential support that enhances patient care and ensures smooth operations within the unit. Key Responsibilities • Manage patient information and maintain accurate medical records. • Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers efficiently. • Assist medical staff in scheduling appointments and managing their daily activities. • Facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and healthcare professionals. • Handle administrative tasks, including supply management and inventory control. • Respond to queries and provide information to facilitate patient care. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to support operational flow. In this role, you will engage with various projects to improve unit workflows and patient experiences. Regular interactions with healthcare teams and patients are fundamental, enabling you to gather insights and share feedback that contributes to overall success metrics such as patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. What You'll Bring • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Prior experience in a healthcare or administrative setting is preferred. • Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus. • Proficient in using computer systems and software relevant to medical records management. • Must be able to commit to part-time hours, which may include evenings and weekends. You will report directly to the Unit Manager and work closely with nurses, doctors, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality patient care and optimize service delivery.
