Family Programs and Intergenerational Initiatives Internship - Education

The Whitney Museum seeks a Spring 2026 Education: Family Programs intern to assist with in-person family programs, art material preparation, and administrative support in a hybrid paid internship. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Work on site 1-2 days per week (Friday and Saturdays) • Assist during in-person Family Programs, creating a welcoming environment for families and kids at the museum • Prepare art materials and organize material inventory • Perform administrative tasks to support programs, including tracking statistics and creating signs and informational materials • Be assigned to a specific department at the Museum for the duration of the internship About You The company is looking for: • Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited academic year program • Applicants who have completed at least one year of academic coursework; undergraduate freshmen are not eligible • Experience working with art materials • Interest in working with kids and families • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel • Creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work on a team • While interest in art and art history is preferred, students in all majors are encouraged to apply • No previous museum experience required Compensation & Benefits • Paid stipend of $3000 • Generous support provided by Julie and Doug Ostrover for Ostrover Family Academic Year Interns Training & Development • Training on art material preparation • Instruction on how to prepare and assist with museum education programming Career Progression • Opportunity to become a valued part of the Family Programs team • Gain hands-on experience in educational program facilitation and administrative support • Explore personal interests through a special project How to Apply Applicants should submit a cover letter detailing their interest in the arts and culture space and what they hope to bring to the role.
