With a culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and creativity, we're committed to making a positive impact on our customers, our community, and the world at large.Job OverviewAs a Principal Data Analyst - Financial Forecasting, you'll be an integral part of our Financial Planning & Analytics team, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and inform strategic decision-making. You'll leverage your expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and business acumen to develop actionable insights, prototype new data solutions, and drive financial forecasting.Key Responsibilities• Partner with FP&A teams to understand data and analytics needs, and develop solutions to drive business outcomes.• Analyze and validate data from various source systems and enterprise data warehouses to inform financial forecasting and business decisions.• Prototype new data and reporting solutions using our analytics platform built on Amazon Web Services.• Create new data assets, automate analyses and reporting, and develop insightful visualizations in collaboration with data engineers.• Collaborate with Financial Modelling (Anaplan) and Data Engineering teams to enhance FP&A's financial data infrastructure, reporting, and analytics.• Communicate complex data insights effectively to stakeholders, driving business decisions and outcomes.• Juggle competing priorities, deliver on deadlines, and adapt to changing environments and initiatives.Essential QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you'll need:• 8+ years of experience in complex data analytics or relevant experience using data to drive insights at industry-leading or fast-growing companies.• Expertise in SQL, Tableau, Excel, and other analytics tools.• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing environments and initiatives.• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for working with global, multi-functional teams.• Willingness to accept failure, learn, and try again.Preferred QualificationsWhile not required, having the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:• A degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, or a related analytical field.• Technology or Software/SaaS industry experience.• Experience using Databricks, Python, and dbt.• Experience with ETL, Data Warehousing.• Familiarity with Statistics and different forecasting methodologies.Skills and CompetenciesTo excel in this role, you'll need:• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive insights from complex data sets.• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, driving business outcomes and decisions.• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Excel, and other analytics tools.• Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and evolve in a rapidly changing environment.Career Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAt Atlassian, we're committed to helping you grow and develop your skills.
