Data Governance Lead – Remote

Overview Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Governance Lead to join their team. This is a remote opportunity, and local candidates are preferred. Summary: We are looking for a leader to drive enterprise-wide data integrity, process optimization, and automation. Responsibilities Governance Strategy & Leadership • Develop and lead the enterprise data and process governance strategy aligned with business priorities • Establish governance councils, policies, and standards for data quality, metadata, lineage, and process controls • Oversee the data steward team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management • Act as a governance evangelist across business units, promoting accountability and stewardship Automated Data Validation & Quality Assurance • Introduce and scale automated data validation solutions to proactively detect and resolve data issues • Define and implement data quality checks across critical systems and workflows • Partner with IT and analytics teams to embed validation rules into data pipelines and integrations • Track and report on data quality metrics, issue trends, and remediation effectiveness Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on governance, compliance, and operational risk • Facilitate workshops, training, and communications to build governance literacy and engagement • Translate complex governance concepts into actionable guidance for business users • Align governance efforts with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOX) and audit readiness Qualifications • 7 years of experience in data governance, business process management, or enterprise operations • Experience implementing automated data validation tools and data quality monitoring solutions • Proven leadership of data steward or governance teams in complex, matrixed environments • Strong understanding of data management principles, process modeling, and governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, COBIT, BPMN) Bonus Points • Certification in Data Governance, Business Process Management, or Lean Six Sigma • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, public sector) • Familiarity with agile delivery models and digital transformation initiatives • Background in enterprise architecture, data engineering, or analytics Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) • 401(k) retirement plan • Life, disability, and ADD (accident and disabled) insurance for eligible employees • Paid time off for salaried personnel Compensation Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
