Key Responsibilities Provide expert guidance and support to students in understanding chemistry concepts, analyzing assignments, and interpreting class materials. Assist students in developing critical thinking, scientific communication, and problem-solving skills. Foster effective study habits and skills, enabling students to achieve academic success. Work with students in an online format, utilizing digital tools to facilitate learning and engagement. Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required. Essential Qualifications High School Graduate, Equivalent, or Current Running Start Student. Basic computer competency. Applicants need to meet at least one set of course qualifications: Inorganic Chemistry: Completion of CHEM 141/151, CHEM 142/152, and CHEM 143/153 or equivalent courses with an average decimal grade of 3.5 or better. Organic Chemistry: Completion of CHEM 241/251, CHEM 242/252, and CHEM 243/253 or equivalent courses with an average decimal grade of 3.5 or better. Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student. Preferred Qualifications College teaching or previous tutoring experience. Demonstrated excellence in Chemistry. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of chemistry concepts and principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff. Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work varied hours. Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for online learning.
