Associate Video Editor, Lifestyle

Vox Media is seeking a talented & technically savvy Associate Video Editor to join the video team that creates content across the lifestyle pod (Eater, Punch, Thrillist, & Popsugar) Directly reporting to the Post-Production Supervisor while supporting the in-house video & post-production team, the ideal candidate will have previous editing experience in either digital or TV/media. A candidate should have a keen eye and strong editing skills. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Assisting in series edits, including prepping and syncing projects, initial string outs, b-roll selection & footage organization • Editing short-form content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and various social platforms • Balancing the work of a variety of edits & deadlines each week • Assist in any administrative post-production tasks, including ingesting footage & media management, packaging assembly (video thumbnails) • Reading the sites every day and familiarizing themselves with Vox Media’s content All staffers will work on a variety of platforms (on-site, social video, newsletter, the app, and more), should be comfortable dining out for work and filing dining reports afterward, and should be willing to participate in social video, including potentially appearing on camera. Additionally, some staffers may be expected to represent Eater at industry events, brand events, and media and press opportunities. WHO YOU ARE • 2-3 years of video post-production experience in a professional environment • Ability to juggle multiple edits & projects in a fast-paced setting • Strong understanding of editing for social video • Strong knowledge of post-production equipment/software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop) • Close attention to detail • Great writing and oral communication skills • Strong pitching & organizational skills • Strong interest in all of Vox Media’s lifestyle coverage areas including social video If you think you have what it takes, but don't meet every single point in our job posting, please apply with a cover letter to let us know how you believe you can bring your unique skills to the Vox Media team or get in touch! Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
