Associate Designer, Handbags

As an Associate Designer, you will collaborate with design and cross-functional teams to execute design visions while ensuring impeccable fit and construction for handbags and Small Leather Goods. Responsibilities Partner with creative design team to achieve aesthetic while adhering to a production time and action calendar Collaborate with the Technical Design Director and cross-functional partners to land on appropriate fit and functional intent for each product of handbag and Small Leather Goods design Manage all technical requirements to develop and execute processes from product development to production Create and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, tolerances, grading, detail sketches with construction/stitching and fit evaluation comments Provide technical direction, internally and externally, on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit and styling Measure and evaluate handbags and SLG from proto sample through TOP samples Maintain close partnership with production teams to maintain on-time delivery throughout the pre-production process and proactively monitor seasonal workload Skills Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented Handbag experience required Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising; ability to sketch Extensive knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim; familiarity with print design and manufacturing Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design 1-3 years experience in handbag design Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, CAD and Mac computers Benefits Medical Dental Vision Matching 401(k) Summer Fridays Generous PTO Merchandise discounts Excellent career development opportunities Company Overview Centric Brands is an apparel and accessories company that sells accessories for children, women, and men.
