Admit U Consulting is on the hunt for passionate, talented writers who are eager to share their expertise and make a real impact. As a College Essay Coach, you’ll work one-on-one with high school juniors and seniors to craft standout college application essays—from the Common Application to every supplemental prompt—helping students tell their stories with confidence and clarity. We believe the college essay process should be engaging, supportive, and even fun. Essays are a student’s opportunity to step beyond GPAs, test scores, and activity lists and reveal the person behind the application. While an essay can’t replace strong academics, it can be the deciding factor—the powerful “tie-breaker” that brings an application to life and leaves a lasting impression on admissions officers. We’re looking for master writers with the drive, creativity, and dedication to develop students’ voices and nurture their writing skills. And the best part? When your students succeed, you share in the victory. In fact, don’t be surprised if you’re one of the first people they tell when that acceptance arrives—sometimes even before their parents! Job Description • Guiding students as they brainstorm essays and college-specific supplements • Assisting students with drafting and executing ideas for essays • Help students articulate their thoughts and experiences into prose • Reviewing and editing essays for content and spelling/grammar • Meeting with clients consistently until college essays are completed Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree, ideally from a U.S. top 50 college or university (Master’s degrees in Creative Writing, Journalism, Screenwriting, or English a plus) • Strong interpersonal communication skills to establish rapport with students and parents • Strong knowledge of grammar/general rules of writing • Enthusiastic about working with teenagers • Charismatic and creative • Committed to their students’ success • Familiar with the U.S. college application process/essays • Must be available to accommodate students’ schedules (after school/nights/weekends) About Admit U Consulting Admit U Consulting provides individualized, comprehensive services to families navigating the college planning and admissions process.
